Common questions

How do I get my songs in?

Tap Add Song and pick whichever route suits what you already have. You can type a song out, paste one in and let StageOn work out the chord lines and section headers, import a CSV, XLSX or TXT file, bring a library across from Setlist Helper, search the built-in archive, or capture a chord sheet from a web page.

My chords do not line up with the words

StageOn keeps chords and lyrics as two separate layers, anchored by character position, so they should stay aligned when you transpose or resize. If an imported song looks wrong, it is usually because the original file used spaces to fake the alignment. Open the song, tap Edit, and correct the chord line; the fix sticks.

Band Sync will not find the other device

Everyone has to be on the same Wi-Fi network — that is what carries the live sync. If the leader's device does not appear by itself, use the 6-digit session code or scan the QR code, which works even when network discovery is blocked. Some guest and corporate networks isolate devices from each other and will prevent Band Sync from working at all; a phone hotspot is a reliable fallback.

Do I need an account?

No. The library, setlists, Stage View, Band Sync, the tuner and the metronome all work signed out. An account is only needed for cloud backup and for sending a song or setlist to someone by email.

How do I move my library to a new device?

On the old device, sign in and use Back Up Now. On the new one, sign in with the same account and use Restore. Restore never overwrites songs that are already on the new device.

The tuner is not picking anything up

The tuner needs microphone access. If you declined the prompt, grant it in your operating system settings under StageOn. Be aware that a loud room or a nearby PA will confuse pitch detection.

Can I use a different chord naming system?

Yes. Settings → Chord Notation switches the whole app between standard names, Turkish names and Nashville numbers.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Cloud Backup → Delete Account removes your cloud backup and your sign-in account. Your songs stay on your device. See the privacy policy for the full detail.

Reporting a bug

Useful things to include: what you expected, what happened instead, whether it happens every time, your device model and OS version, and the app version from Settings. A screen recording is worth a lot when something looks wrong on screen.
